Ikebana Installation for Private Brand Dining
A discreet Ikebana installation developed for private dining occasions hosted by a luxury brand, designed to add seasonal depth and visual texture to a hospitality setting.
Project Overview
This project was developed for intimate private dining occasions hosted by a luxury brand, including a late autumn lunch and a separate dinner setting.
Before the event, I visited the venue to understand the character of the space, the flow of guests, and the planned menu and ingredients. Based on these elements, I prepared several seasonal ikebana works to be placed throughout the dining environment.
Rather than creating a dominant floral centerpiece, the installation was designed to appear quietly within the guests’ field of vision, adding another layer to the atmosphere of hospitality while remaining in harmony with the architecture, table setting, and rhythm of the meal.
Approach
For a dining occasion, flowers do not always need to become the center of the room. Their role can be quieter: to create a seasonal presence that appears at the edge of vision, supporting the conversation, the food, and the movement of people through the space.
The works were placed in several points of the venue, considering sightlines, circulation, and the way guests would encounter the flowers while seated, walking, or entering the room.
As the occasion took place in late autumn, materials such as rice ears and other seasonal elements were used to bring a sense of harvest and quiet abundance into the space.
Concept
